Bit By Bit

We are always adding and training new therapy horses for our 3 facilities. Our herd keeps on growing as our program expands! We have ponies and horses of all sizes, breeds, and ages. Currently we are looking for equine partners that are a bit larger because we need help with our veteran program.

All of our therapy horses are cross trained and kept very athletic in order to provide the rider with quality movement. Our horses undergo desensitization activities so that they are exposed to many environmental factors and encouraged to behave bravely in various situations. Not that we want to brag--- but our horses are the BEST of the BEST!

DONATING A HORSE:
If you have a horse that you think is suitable for our program (must be sound, good disposition, < 20 years old), please send a detailed description to Kathleen Pegues at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Please note that all horses are accepted on a trial basis before formally accepted into our program in order to ensure rider safety.

Here are some (but not all!) of our Herd Members.....

Country Music

Info:Country Music is a quarter horse. He has been with BBB for quite a few years. He is one of our most experienced and athletic horses. He is a brave and calm friend when backriding a child and he is an energetic and fun partner when jumping and trailing. He is one of a kind and we owe him so very much.
Breezy

Breezy

Info: Breezy is our pony girl. She is a favorite of all of the riders because of her calm and caring temperment. Breezy loves to trailride. She is the horse that our most physically challenged riders work with because she is patient and loving. Many clients would not be able to ride if it wasn't for Breezy because she is capable of helping those who need her the most.

Snickers

Info: Snickers is the funny man of the barn. He was meant to be on the trail and is as trusty and steady as they come. He recently fell in love with our paso fino mare, Gypsy Gold, who he diligently tries to spend quality time with. Snickers is also used for backriding because he is brave and patient.
